Min insurance required
We confirm every contractor holds a valid Ontario business registration. Operating without a licence is a major red flag — we filter them out before they ever reach you.
Contractors must provide a valid Certificate of Insurance with minimum $2M commercial general liability coverage. This protects your home and property during the project.
We require a current WSIB (Workplace Safety & Insurance Board) clearance certificate. This confirms workers on your project are covered — protecting you from liability if an injury occurs.
Before approval, we review the contractor's track record across Google, HomeStars, and Houzz. Contractors with patterns of complaints or disputes are not accepted.
Verification isn't just a one-time check. We monitor active contractors and review homeowner feedback after every completed project. A contractor who underperforms loses their platform access.

What if a contractor doesn't perform as expected?
Contact us immediately at support@bildquote.com. We take complaints seriously — repeated issues result in removal from the platform. We can also provide guidance on your legal options and next steps.
Can anyone apply to be a contractor?
Contractors apply and must submit their licence, insurance certificate, and WSIB clearance before being approved. We manually review every application. Most applications are processed within 1–2 business days.
How often do you re-verify contractors?
Insurance and WSIB certificates must be renewed annually. We send reminders and suspend contractors whose documents have lapsed until they provide updated paperwork.
Do you verify the quality of their work?
We verify credentials, not craftsmanship. That's why reviewing contractor profiles, reading reviews, and asking for references directly is important. Our platform shows reviews from real homeowners who've used each contractor.
Are contractors background checked?
We perform reputation checks and licence verification. We do not currently run criminal background checks — however, our review monitoring and insurance requirements provide significant protection.
